The big question many couples ask...

Should we do a FIRST LOOK???

To every couple, my answer is: "It's totally up to you!"

So, let's start by answering the questions, what is a FIRST LOOK? Basically, it's a private moment of your day that you choose to see one another before your ceremony. It is always a very intimate moment, and it almost always come with some tears.

How do we know if it's for us?

There are a lot of reasons why couples opt to include this moment in their day.

  1. From couples who don't love being the center of attention, this is a great option. You can spend time with your very soon to be husband or wife without the distractions of the rest of the day. It's a moment of just two people ready to make a promise to one another for the rest of their lives, BEFORE they say, "I do," in front of a crowd of people.
  2. If you are nervous to have a crowd of people witness raw, unfiltered emotion, and you know you're absolutely going to lose it when you see one another, this might be for you too! You can have your moment without all eyes on you and then prepare yourself for the ceremony. It really does relieve a lot of stress for some couples!
  3. A first look also opens up your wedding day timeline to feel more a part of your day with guests after the ceremony. Couples who choose a first look do all of their portrait photos together before the ceremony so they can enjoy cocktail hour with their guests.

How do we know if it's not for us?

Honestly, you'll just know. Many couples who wait to see one another until the bride walks down the aisle--they just know. They love the feeling of tradition and have dreamed of this moment forever. It is equally as special to wait until the ceremony. And don't worry about your timeline. We will still make sure to get your stunning portraits after the ceremony so you can still enjoy your reception with guests.
