I have absolutely fallen in love with the "First Touch." Have you heard of this? Have you considered this for your wedding day instead of a "First Look?"

The quick overview:

What is a First TOUCH?

  • A First TOUCH is a private moment before your ceremony, before guests arrive for just the bride and groom. It's a chance to say, "Hello, it's our wedding day!" A chance to calm your nerves knowing that you're only a short time away from saying, "I do." It's a time to trade gifts around a corner. It's just TIME--and that's precious on your wedding day! If you choose to do a First TOUCH, when I arrive, I'll look around the venue for a location that's picturesque and lends itself to this moment. I'll help you get into place without risking seeing one another and then step away to capture the story while you enjoy this special moment together.

How is it different from a First LOOK?

  • Unlike a First LOOK, during a First TOUCH you will never actually SEE your partner. Many people like this idea because it allows for the traditional moment of the bride walking down the aisle as the first time the groom will see her. For many, this is a special, non-negotiable part of the day. So a First TOUCH, is a way for you to say hello without sacrificing the tradition of that moment during the ceremony.

Here are a few pictures from Josh + Emilei's Wedding in Oswego, New York at Bayshore Grove for their First TOUCH right outside the Bridal Suite.

There are few slow moments on a wedding day, so if you're looking to add intentional moments with your partner, a First TOUCH may be for you!

Also, if you're considering whether to have ONE or TWO photographers on your wedding day, the pictures of Josh + Emilei's First TOUCH are one awesome example of having TWO people capture the same moment from different angles to tell the whole story.
